La LONGÈRE, your nature getaway!
My husband and I are delighted to welcome you to our haven of peace and to share with you the joy we experience living in this charming and welcoming little white farmhouse.
Nestled peacefully amidst flowers and greenery, our longère is located in the heart of the SCARPE ESCAUT Natural Park.
During your stay, you’ll meet RUSTINE, our Australian Shepherd dog. You’ll see, she’s great! (Of course, this young lady does not enter the guest rooms).
In terms of decoration, to welcome you to our guest rooms, I aimed for a chic and understated atmosphere, with natural and soothing colors, blending old-world charm with a touch of modernity.
If needed, I will gladly make your reservations at a restaurant or elsewhere.
Unique Room
The Chalet
A pretty little white house for two people, hidden at the back of our garden in the shade of an apple tree. The room has a small, functional shower room with a heated towel rail, sink, and toilet.
No internet connection in the chalet.
Comfortable family room with soothing colors
The LONGÈRE SUITE
Located on the first floor (no elevator) of our house. It can accommodate one to five people.
It consists of two rooms:
- BALCONY ROOM for 2 people
- GLYCINE ROOM for 3 people
Between the two rooms, there is a small, functional bathroom and a separate toilet, located under the eaves, for the exclusive use of the suite. Both rooms have a desk or a table for working and WIFI connection.
Practical Information
For the LA LONGÈRE suite and THE CHALET, beds are made upon your arrival, as you prefer, either as single beds (80 x 200) or double beds (160 x 200). The bedding is new and of high quality.
Household linen is provided, as well as a hairdryer, shampoo, and soap for the shower and hands.
For the younger generation, the Glycine room has a travel cot, a changing mat, and a toilet adapter.
My little eco-friendly touch!
For your comfort, I have chosen eco-friendly soaps produced by a young woman from the neighboring village, made from natural ingredients from local farms.
My philosophy and desire to protect nature naturally guide me to use, as much as possible, ecological or plant-based, recyclable, or homemade products for laundry and the maintenance of the house and rooms. I strive to reduce waste and avoid waste as much as possible.

The Must-See
Breakfast
After a good night’s sleep, I will have set a lovely table for you in the dining room or on the terrace if the weather permits. I will offer you a hearty breakfast with local flavors.
To prepare for your arrival, I visit local farms to offer you delicious, healthy, and natural products. Fruits from my garden or the farm, as much as possible, allow me to lovingly prepare good homemade jams for you.

At La LONGÈRE, you can freely enjoy the garden and terraces. You can have a picnic. If needed, I can provide a tablecloth, plates, and cutlery.
Upon request, I can lend you outdoor games, pétanque (for adults and children), and Badminton.
Nature lovers, don’t forget your walking shoes; the forest is very close.
We are delighted to welcome our cycling friends. A bicycle shelter is available in La LONGÈRE’s enclosed garden.

La longère is 5 minutes from the Marchiennes forest, where the cycling route of the Way of St. James passes, the greenway between Orchies and Fenain, and a little further on, the towpaths.
For Paris-Roubaix enthusiasts, we are a 5-minute bike ride from the Marc MADIOT cobbled path. In the vicinity, you can discover the Arenberg Trench, a famous section of this legendary race…
There are beautiful family rides to enjoy, notably a +/- forty-five minute bike ride, exclusively on paths, to reach the Parc des Argales in Rieulay, where you can swim, birdwatch, go boating, or enjoy a cheese board at the Terril goat farm….
There are beautiful walks to take in the forest. If you’re lucky, you might have the pleasant surprise of crossing paths with a roe deer.
Along the way, you can make a gourmet stop for a drink, a meal, or a snack at the CROIX OU PILE inn.
The Way of St. James and GR 121, and 11 km of hiking trails await you, hopefully with good shoes. Plenty to enjoy to your heart’s content!
